I. Preparation

1. Firmware version M-5.0 (Multi-Coin) running on Keystone Essential or Pro.

(Please read How to upgrade firmware for more information.)

2. Recovery Phrase for your Ledger wallet.

Important Note:

If the bitcoin amount shown on the Keystone companion app isn’t the same as your Ledger wallet, this is most likely due to the Keystone companion app currently only supports Nested SegWit addresses (addresses that start with "3"), please check here (FAQ 9) for solutions and more information.

III. Binding your Keystone to MetaMask

Firmware versions M-5.0 (Multi-Coin) or newer will allow you to use the MetaMask Extension (V10.8.0 or newer) as a watch-only wallet with your Keystone Essential or Pro.

1. If you are already using MetaMask with your ledger hardware wallet and wish to use the exact same wallet with a keystone hardware wallet instead, please remove the Ledger accounts from MetaMask first or reinstall the MetaMask extension. (This is a necessary and important step. For more information, please see the second section of this guide: Potential Trouble with Importing Accounts.)
